I started out in conformation just so I could learn more about how to handle my dog in a different type of environment. Since I did a lot of agility, I was also thirsting for more knowledge in canine structure as it applies to performance. I wanted to know my dog's strengths and weaknesses and how I can strive for peak performance with the structure they were born with.

Conformation shows is not the one and only place to learn about structure. I took conformation classes, read books, studied video tapes, talked to people at shows, and read more books about canine structure and locomotion. I even took a valuable seminar with Chris Zink where I learned a lot about canine structure and jumping styles in many different breeds.
